Olympic Sculpture Park: Volunteer Open House



January 10, 2009 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Please join us in the PACCAR Pavilion for an informational open house on volunteer opportunities at the Seattle Art Museum’s Olympic Sculpture Park. Learn about the benefits of volunteering and find out what position is right for you.

Positions available:

Olympic Sculpture Park Ambassadors assist park visitors in locating and learning about artwork, including the Neukom Vivarium, and enjoying the park environment safely. Duties may include facilitating education and interpretive activities, providing general information about the site, and encouraging positive visitor interactions with the park during specific hours of operation. Minimum commitment: a regular bi-weekly schedule for at least 6 months.

Olympic Sculpture Park Stewards work as individuals or in small groups to adopt an area of the Olympic Sculpture Park. Duties may include weeding, light pruning, raking, invasive plant removal, and general planting bed maintenance. Volunteers may also assist with the creation and maintenance of a plant database for the park. Minimum commitment: a regular schedule of 2 shifts per month for March through October.
