The National Parks Artists-In-Residence program at Whiskeytown offers established visual artists the opportunity to pursue their particular art form while being surrounded by the inspiring landscape of the park. The park provides a rustic cabin to participants for a two or three week period from May to August.
A $300 stipend is provided for 2 artists. Whiskeytown National Recreation Area is located 3.5 hours north of San Francisco and 2 hours north of Sacramento. Situated seven miles west of Redding, Whiskeytown covers 42,000 acres of land nestled among the hills of California’s Klamath Mountains.
Who is eligible:
Established visual artists with a strong history of exhibiting work are eligible. All visual arts are acceptable including video, photo, sculpture, land art, painting, drawing, performance, etc. At this time we are not accepting applicants from other art forms such as dance or writing.
