Seattle seeks artworks by mid-career artists

City of Seattle seeks portable artworks by mid-career artists Seattle Public Utilities’ to purchase works for portable collection

SEATTLE - Seattle’s Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs, in partnership with Seattle Public Utilities (SPU), seeks to purchase available artworks from mid-career artists for SPU's Portable Works Collection.

Artists with at least 10 years of professional experience and a significant exhibition history are encouraged to apply. The call is open to residents of Washington, Oregon, British Columbia or Alaska. Portable works in all art mediums will be considered.

A panel of arts professionals advised by SPU staff will select the artworks for purchase. The total purchase budget is $100,000 and is supported by SPU 1% for Art funds. The application deadline is 11 p.m. (Pacific Time), Wednesday, Sept. 30. A link to the online application and guidelines is available at www.seattle.gov/arts.
