A Red Carpet call for volunteer photographers

3/22/08 update: Thanks for all the replies we have all the photographers we need for the film festival.

Hey you shutterbugs and Flickrites; the NFFTY film festival is looking for photographers to volunteer for the upcoming film festival at the Seattle Center on March 28^th thru March 30. This will be a fun gig for those of you that enjoy event and people photography. The film festival events that need to be covered range from the opening night Gala to works shops, lectures, after parties and concerts. Lunch, dinner and free passes will be provided as well as parking validation (parking in Queen Anne is a pain, so we've taken care of that for you!)

Despite only being 2 years old the film festival has an impressive list of sponsors and a great deal of media buzz behind it. Your photography will gain a great deal of public exposure and NFFTY will gratefully credit you for your contributions (NFFTY wants the right to be able to use your photos in its promotions).

We are looking for 4 to 6 additional photographers to volunteer to photograph the various events at the festival. Due to the nature of the environments and events there is a preference is for digital photographers using SLRs with a min of 5-6 mega pixels and lens suitable for portrait work to wide angle. The majority of the events are inside so an external hot shoe flash is essential. The photos you’ll be taking will be used immediately in the festival’s marketing, so we’re also looking for photographers savvy with post processing (Camera Raw, Bridge, Lightroom, etc).

If you enjoy photography then you likely already have a digital SLR, a couple of lens, a flash and post process our own images (remember to set your metadata to include your photo credits!). The event will be a great deal of fun and people will be having a great time. As a festival photographers you’ll have free access and no shortage of opportunities to take great photos.

The National Film Festival for Talented Youth, March 28 - 30 2008 at the Seattle Center.

The festival provides young filmmakers with an opportunity to showcase their films to audiences of all ages. The festival will also offer 73 films, 2 concerts, workshops & panel discussions on various filmmaking principals and useful production experience from industry professionals.
