Seattle Teen Print makers Woodblock Workshop

The Georgetown Art Center presents Seattle Teen Print makers (STP) Woodblock Workshop.

September 26th – October 17th
Non-toxic printmaking workshops for Teens ages 13-18
Closing art reception Saturday October 24th 6- 9pm

Instructor – Printmaker and Director of GAC - Angielena Chamberlain
Pricing – The cost for this four-week workshop is $150 including materials
Payment after Monday Sept 14th is $170 inc. materials
Scholarships - Two full Scholarships will be available for low–income or needy families (Please request paperwork early)

Pay methods – Pay pal / check -payment must be made by Sept.21st

Workshop goals
This beginner’s class in non-toxic printmaking with a focus on creative expression and identity. A brief overview of the history of print will set teens up for an enjoyable and fun experimentation process. Introductions to traditional and modern techniques will broaden the language of expression each student can achieve. Students will create a finished project that will be showcased during the final exhibition of student works October 24th 6-9pm.

About The Georgetown Art Center:
The Bertoldi building, which is the historical name of the building which now houses the GAC. It was built in 1904, and used as a ballroom for many years.While no longer used as a ballroom, it has been turned into one of Seattle’s more cutting edge Arts education facilities. Founded by Artist Angielena Chamberlain in 2007, the Georgetown Art Center now hosts teaching artists and diverse cultural events. All levels of artists are welcomed and a variety of classes are available. is developing a new print arts and sculpture studio and needs your
help. If you have print or sculpture related items that you want to
loan, gift (we soon will be a 501c3 ) or sell very cheaply please
contact me. Items needed are

Drying racks
large press - we have a lovely small press made by Bill Ritchie
Flat files
Large lighting systems
donkeys
sculpture stands
sturdy shelving
many other items will be considered
I can arrange for pickup

Seattle Artist Jeff Mihalyo exhibits photos from his recent trips to France and Italy. Mihalyo is a local artist known for his surrealist paintings that juxtapose pastoral images with those of the electronic age. Jeff was one of the artist in the 2008 CoCA Art Marathon. Saints and sinners open sessions at the Georgetown Arts Center

Hello artists
After a little break in our unique Open drawing/ painting/sculpture session I am happy to say The saints are marching back in (and a few sinners also)

First session June 1st. These will be two week long poses with costumes/figurative. Our first two weeks will be Queen Nefertiti.

We will be offering a reduced fee for those that buy prepaid cards and solely moving towards frequent flyer type action from now on. Drop ins will pay a premium $14 a session. So here is the scoop

Frequent Artist Pass
Four session pass - buy four session at $48 and get one free
(they do not need to be used consecutively but will expire in 4 months)

Super hero Pass
Eight sessions for $96 and get two free
(they do not need to be used consecutively but will expire in 6 months)


Our first Model - Pigeon as Queen Nefertiti June 1st and 8th

it's from 1-4 pm every Sunday.

As always foodies and tea/coffee will be served for our mortal coils
