The Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center is issuing a call to artists for the exhibit Mechanical Elements, slated for Sept. 4-30. The overall best of show winner will receive a cash prize of $1,000.The center is seeking submissions of two- and three-dimensional art work for its ongoing juried exhibits, with opening receptions held the first Friday of each month during downtown Fort Myers Art Walk events.
For the September 2009 exhibit, the artistic theme is based on Anthony Burgess's play, "A Clockwork Orange," a theological drama dealing with ethics and morality. Images related to clockwork, industry, mechanisms and machinery are appropriate.
