Call for submissions: Morpho Gallery 4th ANNUAL JURIED PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBIT

4th ANNUAL JURIED PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBIT Show dates: April 3– May 3rd, 2009 Entry Deadline: Friday, March 1, 2009
A call for original photography for Morpho Gallery’s 4th annual photo exhibit. Size limitation is 36” maximum in any direction, framing included. Original photography only, any medium including digital and alternative processes.
Entry fee: $25 for three images, $5 for each additional image up to five per person. Jurying will be done from slides or CD, along with the entry form and check. For on-line jpg images, submit with the completed entry form and entry fee paid through Paypal (see details below).

Award: First place award is a month long solo exhibition sponsored by Morpho Gallery, including an opening night event, postcards and advertising.
Juror: Karen I. Hirsch is an award-winning commercial, editorial and fine art photographer based in Chicago. In 2008, she was named Best of Chicago in the photographers category by the U.S. Local Business Administration. Her photos have been published in Communication Arts, Graphis, Architectural Digest, Forbes, the Chicago Tribune and many other magazines, newspapers, books and calendars. In 2007, the Chinese government invited Hirsch to be one of ten American Society of Media Photographers to document the city of Rizhao for the project "Rizhao in the Eyes of Foreign Photographers." In 2003, the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and the Illinois Arts Council sponsored her one-woman exhibit "My Chicago," featuring more than 200 images of Chicago's people, places and events. Hirsch's prints can be found in private and corporate collections.
