What. Why Seattle Design

In August 2008, the McLeod Residence foyer will feature What.Why Seattle Design, a juried collection of home furnishings from local designers. What.Why is a quarterly forum for Seattle-area designers to receive exposure and feedback for their work. The selections include furniture from Ladies & Gentlemen Studio and furniture and light fixtures from Graypants and Iacoli & McAllister. What.Why Seattle Design is a limited engagement and will only be on exhibit from August 1 to August 15.

Enter your work in HOW magazine's Interactive Design Competition. All winning entries will be featured in HOW's huge April 2009 Design Annual and will receive a $100 discount toward registration for the 2009 HOW Design Conference. One Best of Show winner will be prominently featured in the April 2009 Design Annual and will be our guest at the 2009 HOW Conference (round-trip airfare within the U.S., hotel and registration paid by HOW.

Create Bad Art!

It's summer and it's time to have some fun. The Graphic Artist Guild is hosting a free Bad Art Party on Weds., July 16, 6-8 pm for Guild members, not-yet members, and their friends. Let go of all that pressure to be perfect. Return to the freedom of childhood. Just play with glue and glitter and macaroni and unleash your spontaneous creativity. A beautiful, parklike South Sound location, 20 minutes from downtown, will be our venue.
We will supply tasty snacks, wine and soda, cool prizes and some art supplies: gluesticks, glitter, macaroni, and paper to mount your messy pieces.
You bring paper, scissors (but no rocks!), magazines to cut up, and whatever else you can think of. And your friends! Let's have fun!
